Aegis ~ An EverQuest II Guild

Summer Progression!

Aegis defeats Malkonis D'Morte Challenge

There is no doubt many guilds get hit hard during the summer time with raid attendance. We at Aegis have seen this for years and always weather the summer time blues. Recently the developers released the Fabled Freethinker's Hideout raid zone with both a normal and challenge version. We are happy to announce that we have fully cleared both versions within one week! There were some hard days with weak attendance, but we still managed to excel at what we do best together as a team, and deliver results. The final battle with Malkonis D'Morte (Challenge) was quite epic and he was slain with 3 groups. It is a testament to the great raiders we have!

On a related bit of news, we will be hosting recruitment raids starting this Wednesday, July 1st, at 8:30 PM Eastern. Gear will be sold for plat and it will be used to recruit new members for the raid force. We will first start with the Molten Pools and Castle High Hold raid zones, but others may be rotated in the future. Please sign up on the raid calendar if you can attend (Wednesday - Mercenary Raid). We look forward to having all join in!

Aegis kills Arch Lich Rhag'Zadune. Flawless Ka'rah Ferun

On Tuesday, April 21st, Aegis defeated Arch Lich Rhag'Zadune, and thus fully cleared the Temple of Ssraeshza! Everyone in the guild has been great at working towards this goal. The work is paying off as we have been killing new progression mobs at a very healthy pace. In terms of progression, we are now tied with the 1st place guild for the number of mobs killed!

Only one more boss remains in the Ossuary Cathedral zone. We look forward to the challenge that awaits us!

Altar of Malice Progression Update (March)

E-mail Print PDF

Aegis kills Sacrificer.

We haven't had many front page updates on this website since the Altar of Malice release, but we definitely have been busy! Aegis has been making strong strides in the progression for this expansion and continues to forge ahead. We even had a server first kill on the Captain Krasnok boss in the Broken Skull Bay raid zone. Our latest kill, Sacrificer Aevila D'Serin occured on March 22nd.

Many people have been putting in a lot of effort to bring us where we are today and we will keep this up as we delve further in the expansion. Remember our target goals for various fights, which can be surmised as "Regular", "DPS", or "Survival" for your builds.

In regards to survival builds, we are now in the zone where we need all raiders to be able to hit the following survival specs in raid:

  • 1.7 million HP
  • 170k resistances

Plus, amazing healing to maintain that. If you're far below this now in raid with buffs in survival fights, get it fixed immediately! We don't want to waste time learning what we need to survive when we are telling you this is what we need today!

Keep up the great work everyone and we look forward to seeing what's ahead.

Altar of Malice Is Open For Business

E-mail Print PDF

Tuesday, November 11th, marked the launch of the new expansion, The Altar of Malice!

Everyone at Aegis has been hard at work leveling and gearing up their characters for the new raids this expansion. We now have a level cap increase to 100 and a whole new set of requirements to be raid ready.

As a reminder, to get raid ready all you need to do are 3 basic things:

  1. Get new jewelry in all slots (earrings, rings, and wrists). This helps you reach the resists requirements. Running heroics and/or obtaining Mastercrafted jewelry is the best start here.
  2. Increase you total health pool. Running heroics is best way to do this as they all seem to be dropping armor with increase to max HP% as the default type among other nice things. Don't forget to fully gem the armor too (blue, green, etc.).
  3. Increase your physical mitigation. Yes, that's right, this is not just a stat for tanks to be only concerned about anymore. Lots of new raid-wide damage-over-time abilities will also include trauma (physical mitigation check). All new armor for every class has increased mitigation by huge amounts compared to some of their counter-parts in the Temple of Veeshan expansion. Bottom line, get new armor from heroics is the easiest to start here.

That's it. Those are the 3 basic things every raider will need to ensure they have met the requirements for on whatever boss they are about to engage. Right now we're recommending people get upwards of 800k hp and 130k resists self buffed. Expect those numbers to climb as we go deeper into the raids, so just aim as high as you can go is the best advice we can give right now.

With that out of the way, we are very happy to report during our first serious attempt at the new raid zones we have killed the first two bosses in Molten Pools! Everyone worked really hard to do this, so great job everyone. Let's keep pushing it forward!

Flawless Klandicar!

Aegis kills Klandicar.

Aegis has nearly completed its war in the second arena in the Temple of Veeshan. During our Thursday raid we defeated the second to the last boss, Klandicar, in a truly epic battle.

Great work to everyone for working hard towards this goal. The final boss, Zlandicar, is next!
